Dreams, Ahoy! (A send off Post-It for 2011.)
Do not be scared. It’s okay to be scared. It means you are risking. Living. Loving. Open to failing. Learning. Open to losing. Open to winning. Open to greatness. Open. You got me open. This year, with your blogs and words, and music, and cooking. Your smile and friendship. Your art. Those photographs you took. The ones you didn’t take because we were so caught up enjoying the...

Wives and Mothers.
Just stepped out onto my balcony and had a seat, with a melting chocolate truffle between my left thumb and pointer finger - a mug of spearmint chamomile tea in my right hand. Taking a moment. Realizing, thinking, that tucked within the folds of the incomparable totality of being a wife and mother, are the strains of difficulty — because as a writer, and the daughter of a misanthropist...

Nightlife options, Manila style. →
Pulled this link from a Philippine Airlines Tweet, of all things, and was surprised to find our city nightlife options quite comprehensively represented. Save this somewhere, for a future trip, an e-mail to an overseas friend, for you or a friend’s moonlit tour of Manila’s best. http://eastgatepublishing.com/2011/12/nightlife-manila-style/

Nicki Minaj and Donatella Versace talk about...
MINAJ: Obviously, you like music. Does it play any kind of role in your design process?
VERSACE: Absolutely. I’m like a little kid when it comes to music. I mean, the music is always blasting wherever I am that people always knock on my door and say, “It’s too loud!” But I think music gives so much inspiration. I only used to listen to rock ’n’ roll, but now I listen to all kinds of music—pop, hip-hop, everything. I also love classical music.
MINAJ: It’s interesting because yesterday I was in a car driving and a Biggie Smalls song came on the radio, and I remember that he used to shout-out Versace in a lot of his songs. Obviously, Biggie is no longer with us, but he was one of the reasons why the hip-hop world got so interested in Versace. Obviously, we couldn’t really afford Versace at that time, but what do you think about Biggie being so into Versace? I think he even wore Versace in a lot of his videos.
VERSACE: I think Biggie was amazing. He came to my shows in Paris many times, and we’d see each other often. He always used to talk so nicely about my family. I think he was so smart, so intelligent. He had such a mind. So I loved what he was doing and how he was giving people a way to know about Versace—I do think a lot of people started to know about Versace because of him.

Smiling. What I love most about being part of this little lady’s journey is witnessing the process of progress. Especially the 3:47am e-mails of edits she wrote, vocalized, and mixed herself. 2012 is going to be so soulworthy for you, my BG. Stand up straight, arch your back, and unfold those wings!  𝄞 junemarieezy: Because we haven’t shown any kind of preview of the stuff we’ve been...

And here she comes, late, but long-legged.
I’m not particularly sure how long this will last, for I have been known to fizzle out on rampages before (slow to amuse on the most part, quick to dampen, unless surrounded by torch bearers), but here it is: I have made the decision to crossover from my detached and internal ways, and join this manic world of RSS feeds and blogs and…self-help books? Yes. I am going to start...
